Keeping this review of Nokia 5310 XpressMusic straight to the point. Lets take a quick look at the technical specifications of this phone.
Specifications of Nokia 5310 XpressMusic
Download Factsheet of Nokia 5310 XpressMusic.
Almost all the details can be found in the factsheet. To make it quick, I would like to point out a few features of this phone myself. It is a sleek music phone which comes with a awesome 2″ TFT Million color screen. It has a 2MP camera without flash, supports Micro SD card of upto 4GB capacity and also supports Bluetooth 2.0 + EDR with many features like audio video remote, object push, SIM access etc.
Lets have a look at what comes bundled with the phone
- BL-4CT Battery
- AC-3 Charger
- HS-45 Headset
- 512MB Micro SD Card
- CA-101 Micro USB Data Cable
It comes with a decent processor and 32MB RAM that makes it a good performer but the camera is sluggish in performance. This is surely a disappointment for camera lovers. Phone memory is around 33MB. It has small keys that can make it a little difficult to operate unless you yourself are slim. It takes upto 2hrs 30minute to charge completely with the bundled AC-3 charger. Music quality is pretty good, thanks to the dedicated audio chip and has a 3.5mm audio jack so that you can even hook up your headphones but its loudspeaker is located at the back side of the phone and you won’t be able to hear it ringing if its lying on a soft surface. It also don’t have Infrared and 3G support. And to my surprise, the antenna is at the bottom of the handset. So don’t touch the bottom of the handset while making calls so as to reduce the radiation exposure and increase battery time.
Considering all the features, here are my two cents:
Phone is really sexy in looks. Infact it looks like it is made for gals rather than guys as it fits in gal’s palm easily. Its music player rocks at the price tag but camera definately sucks. If you are not much in clicking photographs every now and then and want a good music phone then it can be a good choice. Support of 4GB Micro SD card makes it ideal to carry a lot of songs.
Summary
PROS
Brilliant Screen, Good speed, Decent Music Quality, Looks
CONS:
Camera performance, No 3G support, Small keys (not much of a CON though)

Hey ashish I really like this phone. I like its dark blue colour version. I m planning to buy 1 for the replacement of my old sony ericssion k700i.
I would like to add one con for Nokia 5310, i.e it does not support opera mini at all. I had purchased this phone and wasted around 2 days to get opera mini connected.
then I exchanged this phone with my brother who had Nokia 5300..and now i am using 5300.
Abhishek the reason that 5310 does not support opera mini is because it is s40 phone. Most of the s40 phones does not allow java apps to connect to gprs.
@Jayadrathsingh
Its good as a music phone but not as a camera phone.
@Abhishek
Opera Mini is pre-installed on it.
@Jayadrathsingh
It has Opera Mini pre-installed on it. Didn’t knew that Opera Mini is unavailable for Series 40 phones. Is it really that so?
The main reason behind opera mini not working on s40 phones is coz itr gprs settings does not allow proxy and ip settings which is available in s60 phones.
@Jayadrathsingh
Why would then they give Opera Mini pre-installed on it if it doesn’t work?
I am thinking of buying it for my sister. Can you tell me which video format does this phone support.
3gp
@Madhur
Which format are you talking about?
The one it uses to save videos or the formats it can play.
this is a really good phone, but i would strongly recommend investing in a hard case of some variety, as within only a few days of having it i noticed that it suffers from the same problem that all nokias seem to experience. the casing is not manufactured to very close tolerances and therefore dust manages to find its way into the screen and is a devil to get out. put a case on it before the dust gets in!
@mark
I didn’t see any dust entering inside its case but yes its the problem with many other Nokia phones.
it plays .3gp vids
@akshdf
Yes, it can play 3gp files.

@dale

okay 5310 can suport opera mini 6 now and thats not bad for a s40 phone.this phone was designed for music!meaning it might feature other apps but specializes on music.its dedicated audio chipsets allows it to play crystal clear sound not even an mp3 player can come close.qualifies in top 5 best music output
