The biggest pain for web designers is making their web designs look as they wanted in different browsers as many browsers display things differently. I know how much of a pain it is for beginners like me. Anyways coming back to the point, today I am going to share a service that let you view screenshots of a website / blog in different browsers and OS.

Browsershots is a free open source service that let you take screenshots of your website / blog in different browsers running on different OS. They offers more choices than one will ever need. When you submit your web address, it will be added to the job queue. A number of distributed computers will open your website in their browser. Then they will make screenshots and upload them to the central server which will be displayed. You don’t need to keep the page open, just bookmark it and open it after the estimated time.

Did you like the service? I find it very useful when checking designs in different browsers without the need of having so many browsers on your computer. Make sure your code is validated before you worry about your web design looking weird in different browsers. Have your say in the comments.

  5. […] I have written about BrowserShots.org which takes the screenshot of how a webpage will look in different browsers and save screenshots of it. But what if we need to take a look at a design which is not live yet? […]
