If you have downloaded yahoo messenger, you must be aware of the fact that you can’t download Yahoo messenger directly. When you download it, you actually download a Online installer which installs the Yahoo messenger online. And you don’t have a copy of setup too. While having a chat discussion with Nspeaks (a guy who always have a answer of my queries), he told me about this little trick that allows me to download the messenger directly without the need of downloading that crappy online installer.
The trick is to add y before the filename of the online installer in the url and you can directly download the full messenger setup. When you click Download Yahoo Messenger,download starts and you have this in the page:
Right Click on click here to copy the link and this is your URL for online installer.
For Yahoo messenger 8
Link for downloading that online installer is http://us.dl1.yimg.com/download.yahoo.com/dl/msgr8/us/msgr8us.exe and if you add y in the filename and then paste it in the address bar, it is the direct download link for the full setup of messenger. Thankyou for the direct download, my connection is less than 1/2 standard modem. The normal installation always ‘froze’. This download took about 2 hours, but the installation only took a moment. 🙂 THANKYOU 😀

I don’t know anything about this Win32 application problem. It must be specifically on your systems. Try downloading somewhere else and then running the setup. If you get the same problem again, then it must be your system state else I have no idea.
Hi, I was reading ashfame and I indeed cannot get my yahoo messenger to successfully install. I have been on line with verizon (a waste), dell (another waste), Yahoo (complete waste) without anyone being able to tell me why or what to do. Maybe its being designed to rid people from using yahoo instant messenger and send them to web messenger where you cannot use your cam.
